HEDip, PGCert, Bsc,
64 Great Eastern St,
Following a degree in psychology and post graduate studies in evolutionary psychology, I started my training in counselling and psychotherapy. Highlights included studies in experiential dynamic psychotherapy, an effective evidence based therapy.
I have also studied integrative counselling, which integrates different models of therapy, person centred counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and psychodynamic approaches. I also integrate mindfulness into my practise.
I have spent many years working for the NHS working within an inpatient eating disorder unit and a psychiatric crisis team, where I received further training in different models of therapy including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Mentalization-based Treatment (MBT).
Special interests include:
Trauma, including childhood trauma
Relationship difficulties (either an existing relationship or in sustaining relationships)
Helping clients who feel like they have never got to the "bottom of their issues"
Assertiveness and self care/compassion
Persistant feelings of sadness and unfulfillment
I am passionate about counselling & psychotherapy and have seen the effects and benefits for hundreds of different clients. I cannot guarantee how long the process will take, but I work hard for my clients through a collaborative relationship, to ensure that the therapy is as effective and efficient as possible, to end your suffering, helping you fulfil your potential and to engage fully with life.
